What is Fluoride?
Fluoride, a sodium fluoride or another fluorine, that contains salt and is added to our water supplies or toothpaste to reduce tooth decay. It provides a shield for our teeth, both as adults and as children. Unfortunately, most people assure that the fluoride they get from their toothpaste and tap water is adequate for their needs. This is not always the case. There are many fluoride-based products that can be applied to the teeth, to help provide protection from cavities and sensitivity.
Research shows that properly applied fluoride blocks cavities by forming a more acid-resistant surface layer. It can reverse (remineralize) early forming cavities.
